Hot Air Balloons on the Horizon

We experience the movement of the world from our terrace.

Birdsong and owl calls filter through the terrace doors, filling our apartment, nature carried inside.

We trace the patterns of lines as the sun moves across the sky throughout the seasons.

Mist and clouds occasionally break the crisp blue that stands stark and spacious above the distant hills.

The sun was just beginning to rise as I filled my morning pages with free-flowing thoughts, steam rising from a cup of tea, ink slowly seeping into the paper.

The elevators creak as they carry their loads. Sudden bursts of noisy traffic mix with bird calls, all while the fridge hums in the background.

I look up.

Three vibrant hot air balloons rise gently and suddenly into the air, coloring the horizon with wonder and surprise.

Order, routine, regimen.

Making way for

Amazement, Joy, Imagination

To be in that basket, floating above Córdoba, mountains standing guard in the distance.

The expansive azure sky, encompassing you.

Lifted by a balloon, that massive to me, can only seem more immense to you.

Freedom in flight.

Who are you? What do you see?

Birds swoop around you, wings open, propel.

What does the world look like as you hang in the sky?

What sounds do you hear? What movement can you see?

The world spins, you float, mountains rise.

What emotion fills you?

Wonder

Reverie

Delight

?

It is through breaks in routine that the joys and surprises of life are free to find their way in.

Look up.
